Obituary of Elaine Mary Kozera

It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Elaine Kozera, age 72. Elaine passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 3rd, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, with family by her side. Born in Reserve Mines, she was the daughter of the late Eddie and Mary Ellen Aucoin. Elaine is survived by sons, Marc (Heather) Kozera, Westmount, Jason (Deanna) Kozera , New Waterford; daughter, Michelle (Dwayne) Symes; brothers, Keith (Bernice) Aucoin, Francis (Donna) Aucoin; sister, Sherrie (Gary Kelly), sister-in-law, Marilyn Aucoin; grandchildren, Dallas, Shannon, Maisie, Victoria, Ryan Teyla, Alyssa; great-grandson, Morgan, and great-granddaughter to-be, Stevie. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years, John Paul Kozera, brothers, Arnold and Gary, and sisters, Sally and Lucy. Elaine adored her children and grandchildren. She loved to hear the gossip and was occasionally known to share a story or two. She and Johnny and the others are now playing a rousing game of either Gin Rummy or Yahtzee. The family would like to thank Dr. Carol Critchley, the staff of the Medicine Shop, Welton Street, and Family First Medical, for their care through the years. Special thank you to the staff of the ICU for their exceptional care in her final days. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
