I am very saddened to hear of Pius passing away.. I only taught with him for a short time at Glace Bay High. I was always impressed by his friendliness, compassion and ability to relate with students and colleagues alike.
Much later, I found out Pius was your brother FX. I recognize those same warm qualities in you both.
My sincere condolences to all Pius’family. May your happy memories help to ease your sadness.

Was lucky enough to have Pius as a teacher in Waycobah. I actually cried when he left our school to go work elsewhere. He was was definitely one of those teachers who left an imprint. RIP Pius, from all your friends in We'koqma'q First Nation.

I always enjoyed the chats I would have with Pius when he would come to Fuzzy's. He always had a smile on his face and we would talk about sports. He will be missed

I am surprised and saddened of the passing of Pius, Pius was a valued member of the East Bay ball team, we could always count on Pius to steal a base or run down a fly ball when we needed it. I haven’t seen him in quite awhile and didn’t know he was sick. He was a great guy and a great teammate. I’m sorry for your loss. Gerard Mac Lellan, East Bay.

Pius was my math teacher at SMJH In 2008. He was one of my favorite teachers, Besides teaching us math He also made sure we new the dangers of drugs and how fast they can ruin someone's life. Atleast twice a week we would come into class do a quick math lesson and then he would put on Intervention Canada for us to show us how important it was to always say no.

Pius was my math teacher at Thompson Jr High. Such a kind man and one of the best teachers I’ve ever had. I will never forget at Christmas time when he decided as a treat to play us “the best Christmas movie”…. A Muppets Christmas Carol. First time I had ever watched that movie was in his class and to this day is my favourite Christmas movie that I watch every holiday season, always reminds me of him! Rest in peace Mr. MacNeil

Pius was my 8th-grade math teacher. He was not only a dedicated educator but also an incredibly kind and compassionate person who believed in each of their students. He gave me lots of confidence in my math skills and pushed me to do more. I’ll always remember the balance he brought to the classroom—challenging us to excel, but also knowing when we needed a break, like when he’d let us watch movies. I’m deeply saddened to hear of his passing and send my condolences to the family.
