Obituary of Regena (Gena) Clare Farrow

Regina (Gena) Clare Farrow (Cameron) Gardiner Mines, N.S. It is with a heavy heart that we the family of Regina (Gena) Clare Farrow (Cameron), 86, of Gardiner Mines, announce her passing in the Maple Hill Manor, New Waterford, on Thursday, September 26, 2024. Gena was the daughter of the late Duncan and Clare (MacLeod) Cameron. Gena was a person of quick wit and a joyful personality. She enjoyed time with family and friends. She was an avid crocheter, making gifts for those she loved. Gena’s special love of coffee was known by everyone. The best part of Gena’s life was Paula Marie, the love that was shared between them was like no other. Gena is survived by two sons: Cecil (Colleen) Farrow and William “Billy” (Debrina) Farrow; two daughters: Geraldine (Will) Wright and Paula Marie Farrow; she is also survived by a brother Greg (Maureen) Cameron, eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, Gena was predeceased by her husband Cecil, son Adrian, daughter Betty; brothers: Josie and James Cameron; sisters, Theresa Hallet, Georgina MacNeil, Margie McCarthy, Mary MacNeil, Eileen MacInnis and Geraldine Cameron. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care and compassion of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, N.S. 902-849-4199. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 11 a.m., with Fr. Dan Boudreau presiding in Immaculate Conception Church, Bridgeport. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Palliative Care of Cape Breton or a charity of one’s choice. Thank you to Pat and the late Mary Clare Sampson for their love and care of Gena. We would also like to thank Carol, Allyson, and Jen, as well as the staff at Maple Hill Manor for the care and compassion given to Gena over the last number of years.
