Obituary of Dwight Button

Robert ‘Dwight’ Button Glace Bay It is with heavy hearts that we the family announces the passing of Dwight Button, age 79 on Friday, September 13, 2024, at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Warrick and Phoebe (Penny) Button. He was employed with DEVCO for many years until his retirement as a car inspector. In his younger years, Dwight enjoyed hunting and fishing in Loch Lomand. Dwight is survived by his loving children, Warrick (Cheryl) Button; daughters, Crystal (Steve) Sibley, both of Port Morien, and Dara Button (Richard Geddes) Glace Bay; wonderful grandchildren, Sasha (Matthew), Caleigh (Darren). Ethan, Rebecca (Brandon), Breton, Jaymie; his precious great granddaughter, Emma Marie; sister Bonnie (Bernie) Burke, Port Morien as well nephew Ryan (Ashley) and niece Meagan (Anthony). Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife, Donna of 53 years. Cremation has taken place. As per Dwight’s wishes there will be no service. The family would like to thank the staff at the New Waterford Hospital and Palliative Care for their care and compassion given to our dad.
