Obituary of Yvonne Dolores March
Yvonne Dolores March, 88, of Sydney, NS, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on September 4, 2024. Yvonne was the daughter of Wilfred and Emily Boudreau.
She grew up in Prime Brook and along with George, her husband, and the love of her life, raised their family in Ashby. She was employed with the Provincial Government and retired in 1995 after 25 years. She had an active retirement. She rediscovered her love of drawing which included the art classes with Marie Moore. It seems she was a natural artist. This was no surprise; she was very talented at everything she put her hand to. When her girls were young, she made all the clothes for the three of them and you guessed it, they all matched. She was well known for her baking and cooking. Many people looked forward to her dropping off her delicious sweets all around Sydney. For many years Yvonne and George enjoyed skating at the Coxheath Arena and going to the many dances in the Sydney area, especially the Sydney Pensioner’s Club. Before covid, Yvonne enjoyed daily swimming at a local pool with close friends. Then there were the birthday girls, and oh what fun they had. The odd trip to Halifax, shopping till they dropped and mostly lots of laughs. She was so blessed with many dear friends.
Yvonne is survived by her husband, George, of 68 years; daughters, Jean (John) Ryan, Sydney, Karen (Paul) Rivett, Toronto, Ont.; sons, George (Eric) Vancouver, David, Toronto, and Paul ( Tammy ), Vancouver; five grandchildren, Michael (Angela) Ryan, Jennifer Ryan (Peter) Maher, Luke Rivett, Brooklyn March and Tyler March; two great-grandchildren, Jack Maher and Penny Maher, as well as many nieces and nephews
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her infant daughter, Mary Eileen, brother, Bill Boudreau, and sisters, Rita Furlong, Isabel Harris and Mabel MacInnes
