Obituary of Elizabeth Odre Durnford (Antle)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved sister Betty on September 2, 2024, at the Hospice Halifax surrounding by her loving family. Betty was born in Fox Cove. NL. Predeceased by her husband, Arthur Durnford; parents, James and Clara Antle; brother, Nelson; and sister, Regina. Left to cherish her memory and celebrate her life are sisters, Shirley Pellerin (Reg), Margaret Pippy, Anita Williams (Gordon), Jerita Drakes (John); and brother, James Antle ( Bernadette) as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Betty worked for several years at the Department of National Defence, Halifax. Those who knew Betty will remember her as a kind, loving and loyal person. Family and friends are left with wonderful memories of Betty listening and dancing to Newfoundland music. The family would like to thank Betty’s home care workers who provided support for her over the past couple of years, as well as the staff of Hospice Halifax for their exceptional care. The kindness and compassion you extended to Betty over her last weeks will never be forgotten. As per Betty’s wishes, cremation has taken place with a private family interment to follow. Donations can be made in her memory to Hospice Halifax, the SPCA or a charity of your choice.
