Obituary of Diane Elizabeth MacDonald

Diane Elizabeth MacDonald Glace Bay, N.S. It is with heavy hearts to announce the passing of our beloved mother, Diane (Legnaro) MacDonald of Glace Bay on August 23, 2024, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Diane was born in Glace Bay to Benny and Lillian Legnaro on February 5, 1949. She is survived by her daughter, Annette (Darrell); sons, Dougie (Sherry) and Michael; seven grandchildren, David (Eileen), Ahsley (Colin), Breanna, Amanda (Jarrad), Adam (Breanna), Joshua and Jacob; six great grandchildren, Sophia, Alex, Mackenzie, Addison, Cade and Madden; sister, Gemma (Wishie); brothers, David, Angelo (Gale), Michael (Laurie), Mario (Corry); and many nieces and nephews. Diane was predeceased by her husband, Michael; parents, Benny and Lillian; sisters, Marie, Linda, Rosa; brother, Benny; and grandson, Darrell. Diane didn’t have many hobbies but loved spending time with family and friends and going out for drives to Walmart. Special thanks to all Nurses and Doctors in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for taking such good care of our mom. Also, our family would like to thank mom’s aunt Rita Legnaro-Piraine and mom’s brother Michael Legnaro who were there to help comfort us and be with mom throughout her final journey; and to Breanna and our sister-in-law Sherry for being by mom’s side through it all.
