Lauren and Family; Just wanted to tell you how sorry we were to hear of Shirley’s passing. Our deepest sympathies. I have so many fond memories of Shirley as I grew up - she was always ready with a smile and a hug whenever we came to Dominion! And she always told me to just post my letters to her and she would make sure they got to the right person. I always thought it was so cool that I had a relative who was in charge of the entire post office! I will forever remember her smile and laughter as well as how, every time she saw me she would say “Hey girl, how are you?” And give me a huge hug! Now it is my turn to send all of you hugs and tell you we are all thinking of you! Love, Jacqueline, Emily & Lindsay

Shirley and I spent a lot of time together especially in last few years. We shared many memories, and had lots if laughs. She handled her illness with 'true bravado' and has now moved on to a better place completing a 'homerun'.

To Lauren: My deepest sympathy. I have known Shirley since she was a baby, and watched her grow into such a caring, compassionate, unassuming, and fun person. She never sought to promote herself but always looked to provide a helping hand to others. Lauren when you arrived you became the focus of her life and she delighted in you all through your growing up years and your accomplishments as an adult. I hope you know how much you were loved and how much you enriched her life. To the McNeil Family: You were also dear to Shirley’s heart and can be commended for maintaining such a close family relationship through the years.I know she appreciated all your help, especially during the past few years, even though I’m sure she would tell you that she didn’t need it. She knew you were there for her, and nothing could replace that assurance and peace of mind it gave her. Lauren and extended family, we are saddened to hear that Shirley has passed. We met her when you were school pals with our Lindsay. She was so friendly and down to earth and so easy to talk to. We know she was proud of you and loved you very much Lauren, any time we crossed paths we would always chat about our daughters. Your mom was a great mom, not only to you, but your friends also. And reading her obituary I see that she took care of her siblings and did so many things for others. May you find strength in all the memories you made with her and May she rest in peace.
