Obituary of Margaret Mary Roden

Margaret Mary Roden, 92, of Halifax passed away December 4, 2017 in Ivany Place, Bedford. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia she was a daughter of William and Ida Richards. Survived by sons, David (Janet), Bill (Cathy); daughter, Margaret Anne (Joseph) Byrne); sister, Betty Davidson or Thunder Bay; grandchildren, Rob, Craig, Nicole, Chris, John, Michelle, Michael; great-grandchildren, Christine, Alyssa, Liam; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband, Bernald ‘Ben’; sons, John, Gerald; brother, Gorden; sisters, Alice, Evelyn, and Doris. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, December 15 at 2pm in St. Ignatius Church, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Beacon House or charity of your choice. On behalf of the family, we would like to say a heartfelt thank you to the hardworking and compassionate staff of Lighthouse (Northwood Ivany Place) where mom spent the last five years, and to the staff of Schooner who saw mom through the last few weeks of her journey. Thank you for your kindness and love shown to Margaret. Also, a special thank you to Mark who came in each Thursday to play crib with mom, she looked forward to Thursday nights with you. And a very special thank you to Donna, who over the last five years became a special friend to mom and to me. Rest in Peace Mom.
