Obituary of Carole Jayne Joudrey

It is with broken hearts that we the family announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, “Carole Jayne Joudrey,” age 79, at the South Shore Regional Hospital on August 1, 2024. Born in Lawrencetown, Annapolis County, she was the daughter of the late Merle and Olive Slauenwhite. She enjoyed motorbiking, snowmobiling, and skiing. She also enjoyed travelling to Florida for many years. She worked as a hairdresser prior to marriage. Carole enjoyed the simple things in life. Spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was her most favorite things to do. Carole is survived by her husband Douglas Joudrey of 57 years; son Kristian Joudrey (Melissa), daughter, Tanya Shatford (Ross). Sister’s; Pamela Slauenwhite and Cathie Nowe (Richard). She is also survived by her grandchildren Erikka Joudrey and Joshua Shatford (Aliyah); great-grandchildren, Finnegan, Fletcher and Tatum Shatford. Sister-in-law; Sharon Slauenwhite. Carole will be greatly missed by her precious Daschund, Sydney. Carole was predeceased by her parents, Merle and Olive Slauenwhite and her brother Rodney Slauenwhite. The family would like to give a special thank you to all the doctors and nurses at South Shore Regional Hospital and Dr Jensen from Crossroads Family Practice for helping Carole in this difficult time. A huge heartfelt thank you to Heather, Danielle and Krista who have made such a difference in mom’s life since her diagnosis. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of T.J.
