Dear Esvelda and your entire family,
Paul and I want to say how sad we are to hear of John’s passing. You likely remember that Paul spent a summer with you in the early 80’s when working as a student in Halifax. It seems that John was always larger than life and he had a huge role as storyteller, innovative diver for the Canadian Navy and grand jokester in your family.
For you all he was much more than that; a devoted husband and a loving father.
He will be greatly missed and we wish you all the best. May you all find peace.

Hi John: What a nice surprise to hear from you. I agree, those times at the ski hill in the 80’s were certainly special, they truly were. My mom enjoyed reading what you had to say about their part of the Ski Wentworth culture. Warm regards and best wishes, Sarah
PS- we have room for you in Revelstoke if you come to visit

Dear Esvelda, family and friends,
It is with great sadness that we have learned of CPO1 (Ret) Big John’s passing. He certainly lived life to the fullest with his love of family and all things nautical, not to mention downhill skiing. It is our hope that his memories will be shared and cherished by all who loved him so much.

Dear Esvelda, I was saddened to hear of John’s passing. It has caused me to reflect on the times John and I would go to the cottage in the fall to get it prepped for the winter. Do you recall the macaroni in the kettle story, you blamed me for a prank and it was the mice. You and John were always very kind to me, he will be remembered with fond memories. God bless.

Dear John and family,
On behalf of the Canadian Naval Diver’s Association please accept our most sincere condolences. Your dad was a huge part of who we, as a Diving Community, are today. He led the way in the early days as the RCN developed its Clearance Diving branch. We are all very saddened by his passing. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you, Esvelda, and family.

Hi Esvelda, I was very sorry to read this morning the passing of John. Even though we have grown apart in our lives you two were a big part of it in the 80’s at Ski Wentworth. I remember a lot of great times on and off the hill. John was always a huge supporter of the sport as well as helping people. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I hope at some time we can cross paths again to remember those times and catch up.
