Obituary of Edna (Ross) Musial

It is with extreme sadness, we announce the passing of Edna (Ross) Musial, Edna passed away July 27, 2024, in Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, Nova Scotia. Born in Margaree Centre, January 29,1932, she was the daughter of the late Martha and Melford Ross. In her mid teens Edna worked summers at Ross Bed and Breakfast, Margaree Valley. She was later employed for many years with Dominion Stores, DeBe’s Gift Boutique and Mahoney’s Shoe Store, in Sydney, NS, where she raised her family. Edna later moved to British Columbia, where she and her husband Mike, lived for 11 years. Edna and Mike travelled extensively, visiting Hawaii, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and throughout the United States, creating many happy memories to last a lifetime. In their retirement years, Edna and Mike lived in River Ryan, CB, and Falmouth, NS. In 2016, Edna returned to Sydney, where she lived with her son, Darrell, where she resided for 9 years. Edna was always active and thoroughly enjoyed life and was an avid bridge player, bowler, quilter, and spent many happy hours gardening. She is survived by her loving son, Darrell Taylor (Sheila Long); sisters, Amy Quigley and Rossalyn Clarke; brother, Larkin (Mary) Ross; special niece, Rossalyn Kelly; daughter-in-law, Colleen Chisholm; two grandchildren, Morgan (Matt) Haley and Keven (Lisa Coombs) Taylor; two great-grandchildren Theo and Lachlan; 5 nieces, 7 nephews, many cousins and friends. Edna will be sadly missed by her special friends, Debbie Gwynn, Paul and Sandy Ranni, and Nikki and Rahul (Bob). Besides her parents, Edna was predeceased by her husband, Mike Musial, father of her children, Art Taylor; beloved son, Edwin Taylor; her daughter in-law, Wanda Taylor; sister, Marion (Marnie) Fraser; one nephew, Milford Fraser; and brother in-laws Ernie Quigley, Kevin Clarke, and Kenneth Fraser. A special thank you to the staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Edna during her time there. At Edna’s request, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 6 Churchill Drive, Sydney, NS, 902-539-7175. A Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date.
