It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Raymond Clarke, 84, of Ben Eion, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on Sunday, July 14, 2024. Born in Howley, Newfoundland, Ray was the son of the late Joseph and Olive Clarke.
Ray loved his chosen career as a long-haul truck driver. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing pool and travelling.
Ray is survived by his son, Daryl Joseph Bucklin; three brothers, Victor, Fred, and Eric; four sisters, Bessie, Sadie, Mary, and Delores; grandchild, Naomi Bucklin; 2 great-grandchildren, Saisha Baker and Shevy Baker, as well as his loving nieces and nephews, far too many to count.
Besides his parents, Ray was predeceased by his siblings, Victor, Fred, Eric, Bessie, Sadie, Mary, and Delores.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 6 Churchill Drive, Sydney, NS, 902-539-7175. There will be no visitation, burial will take place at Hillside Cemetery in his family’s plot near Stephenville, Newfoundland.
