Obituary of Elaine Strong

Sharon Elaine (Wilson) Strong Dominion It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of Elaine Strong Friday, July 12, 2024, at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital, New Waterford. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Florence Wilson. Elaine was nursing at Breton Bay until her retirement. She took pride in her skill as a nurse. She enjoyed walking, skating and watching a good movie. Elaine is survived by her children, Michael (Wanda) Strong and Kyle (Nicole) Strong; her grandchildren, Courtney, Nikki, Taylor, Connor J. and Regan; her great grandchildren, Cameron, Abby,Maddie, Cole, Allie and Casey. She is also survived by her siblings, Cheryl, Dolena, Regie, Jackie, Leslie (Blair) and Billy, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her mother, she was predeceased by her companion and best friend Allan MacDonald (2024); son Gordon; daughter, April; sisters, Glenda and Kay; brothers, John T., Gordie, Stevie and Kenny. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. with a celebration of life to follow at 1 p.m. with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating, taking place in T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, (902-849-4199) with a burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Highland St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Society.
