It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of Mary Wiseman on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at Hospice Cape Breton with her family by her side.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Mary (Campbell) O’Connell.
Mary was an avid member of Salvation Army in Glace Bay for many years. She and Baxter enjoyed Saturday evening bowling nights with friends, camping in their younger years, and going for Sunday drives everyday.
Over the years, Mary worked many jobs, retiring from Jacobson’s Clothing.
Mom is survived by her loving children, David (Nangmalik) Wiseman, Kim Wiseman (Francis MacLean), Shirley Kressner and Bernice Addezi; brother, Joe (Betty) O’Connell; sister-in-law, Marion Hoare; 15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 53 years, Baxter Wiseman; son Glen Wiseman; brothers, Pat, Sonny, Buddy and Cam; sister Shirley.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from 5-7 p.m. at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St. Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199) A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2024, with Captains Keith and Charlene Barrett officiating at Salvation Army, Union St., Glace Bay. Private family burial in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Cape Breton.
A special thank you to Hospice Cape Breton, Dr. D’Intino and Dr. Girno, the nurses and staff for all your care and compassion and friendship given to our mother during her stay there.
