Obituary of David "Dave" Brian Pyke

David Brian Pyke, 74 Glace Bay, N.S. It is with deep sorrow that we the family of David Brian Pyke, 74, of Glace Bay, N.S., announce his passing on June 29, 2024, in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Dave was the son of the late Alex and Georgette (Pat) Pyke of Glace Bay. Dave was a proud 35-year veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force and worked as a Radar Technician. Throughout nine postings and many travels around the world, he was often recognized for his dedication. After retirement, Dave and Linda settled in Dominion, where he tried his hand at everything from growing tomatoes, working several jobs, and often frequenting local establishments in Dominion to ensure he knew what was happening in the town. Dave is survived by his wife Linda (MacDonald) of 57 years: son Rob (Heather); daughter Kim; two brothers: Ernie (Debbie) and Darren; sister Cathy (Bobby) Bisson; six grandchildren: Kristopher, Kyle, Kaitlynn (Rob), Tristan (Matt), Tristian, and Stacey; six great-grandchildren: Brooklyn, Isabella, Alexandria, Sophia, EJ, and Nina. Along with his parents, Dave was predeceased by brothers Joseph and Edmond. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024, at 12 p.m., with a Celebration of Life to follow at 1 p.m., in T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, N.S. 902-849-4199. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
