Obituary of Robert George Parker

Robert George Parker, a resident of Haliburton Place Windsor, formerly of Kentville, gave up his fight with Parkinson’s and left this life for his heavenly home on December 21st 2017. Predeceased by his infant brothers, Thomas and Laurier; and his parents, Avon and Theda (Eye) of North Alton. Also his nephew Jeffrey Spicer; and brother in law Lloyd Bezanson. Survived by his former wife, April Cahill (Peter) Kentville; daughter, Jacqueline MacInnis (Doug), Hillside Boularderie Cape Breton; son, Robin Parker, Kentville; grandchildren, Melanie Chambers (Chris), Calgary Alberta, Virginia MacInnis, Sydney; great-grandchildren, Isla, Jack and Eleanor Chambers, Calgary Alberta. Bob is also survived by his sisters, Carole Bezanson (Lloyd (deceased), Blue Mountain, Shirley Russell-Davidson, North Alton, Rev. June Keddy (Gordon), North Alton, Barb Spicer (Murray), North Alton; many loving nieces and nephews; and his Aunts Barbara, Ferne and Margaret Eye and Joyce Graham. Bob was a farm foreman before acquiring his own property in New Albany. After an injury left him unable to work the farm he relocated to his hometown where he trained as a horticulturalist and worked for the town of Kentville. With extraordinary work ethic and stubbornness he was always on the lookout for an odd job, banana box or stray shopping cart. A devoted Toronto Maple Leafs fan he shared his enthusiasm with the staff and guests of Halliburton. Special thanks to the nurses, Drs and staff of Halliburton Place for the care and concern shown to Bob and our family during his time with them. Funeral arrangements have be entrusted to T.J.
