Obituary of Mildred Elizabeth Cameron

Mildred E. (Hansen) Cameron of Sydney, NS passed away peacefully at Hospice Cape Breton on June 13, 2024, at the age of 82. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Eileen Hansen of Mira, NS. She is survived by her children; Benita (Jim DesRoches) Orangeville, Ontario, Joan (Eric Deveaux) Dartmouth, NS, and Jamie (Rosanne Cameron), Sydney, NS, her grandchildren; Justin, Jordan, Alexander, Logan, Kyle, Charlotte, Sarah, and Nicholas, as well as 8 great-grandchildren, and siblings; brothers Trevor (Patricia), John P., Roddie (Diane), and sisters Charlene (Chuck), and Debbie. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Guy (Diane), Charles (Barbara), Beaton, David (Kathleen), Alden, Walter, and Daniel. Mildred centered her life around her children and their children as they arrived. She had great love for all her family and always provided support no matter what the situation. Through the years she was employed in various public and private sector roles, all of which she was devoted to while also supporting her family. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 6 Churchill Drive, Sydney, NS, 902-539-7175. There will be no visitation, but the family will be gathering for a graveside Celebration of Life at the St. Joseph Mira Cemetery at 10:30 am on Saturday, June 15th. A special thank you to all the wonderful doctors, nurses, medical teams, and volunteers who took amazing care of mom.
