To my mini me, Jazmyn
It was a couple years ago we found out we were sisters. We were both getting our nails done at our nail techs place. I couldn’t stop staring at you thinking “she looks like me”. I was kinda nervous to ask if we were sisters, but I’m thankful that I did. We gave each other the biggest hug. That day, I seen myself in you. Besides looking like me, you spoke like me, your personality was like me & we clicked as if we already knew each other. We were both beyond happy and excited to have finally met.
You started going over to my moms to hang out, she loved & treated you as if you were her daughter, she loved having you around. It warmed her heart seeing you with us. You & our brother Elijah would chill & tease each other nonstop. Your bond was unbreakable.
Mom told me the story about the apple crisp by the way. You & Elijah are something else. She made an apple crisp, & while everyone was sleeping, you & Elijah ate the whole pan (I’m laughing as I’m writing this) mom got up the next morning & seen the pan with nothing but crumbs & oats left in it, she said “Jazmyn what happened to the apple crisp”
You started laughing & said “that was Lijah”
When Elijah woke up , mom asked him “Lijah you ate all the apple crisp?” He said “that was Jazmyn” going back & forth laughing about who did it. Now if anyone knows both Jaz & Elijah , you know it was definitely the both of them. I don’t blame them , it was good.
We didn’t get as much time together as we looked forward to, but I’m blessed & thankful for the time we did have together. & though he may not get to meet his auntie Jaz, I know you will be watching over your nephew, “Jaziah”. We love you & will miss you so much.
Here’s a poem for you;
“You're beautiful, you're endless, Now stretch your wings and fly, You're loved by so many, It will never be goodbye. Close your pretty eyes, No more tears, just go and rest, Let your soul lie peacefully, We know you did your best.”
Love, Jae.
