Obituary of John Theodore Simms

Age 87, of Halifax passed away on May 25 peacefully at home with family. Born in Halifax he was a son of the late, Rhona and John Simms. He worked at the Halifax dockyard for many years and enjoyed fishing, building things, gardening, country music, hunting, antique cars, playing cards, crib, plus gathering with family and friends. John also was proud to work for Humpty Dumpty, and Coca-Cola. He is survived by his sons, Carmen Simms, Dale Simms, Myles Simms, Meredith Allison, and Larry Allison; daughters, Natalie Simms, Karen Simms, Joanne Simms, and Lynn David; brother, Floyd Simms; sister, Violet Simms; grandchildren, Savannah, CJ, Tashayna, Serena, Charese, Chardennai, Jeremy, Dale Jr., Myles Jr., and Tyler. He was predeceased by his loving wife of over 65 years, Dorothy (David) Simms; sister, Ivy (Simms) Jones. There will be a private family service.
