Age 73, of Halifax, Nova Scotia passed away peacefully Saturday May 25, 2024 at Northwood in Halifax with her family by her side. Born in Moncton New Brunswick to the late Edward (Ned) & Alva (Melanson) Goguen. Louise worked for DND for 22 years until her retirement in 2012. Louise was an avid sports fan, loved to travel, play bingo and to be around her friends. But her favorite pastime was being with and supporting her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Louises warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her. A pillar of strength and a source of endless support, Louises legacy of selflessness will continue to inspire and comfort her family. Louise was every athlete’s biggest fan. She is survived by her husband, Ken Gorman together for 53 years; son, Jody (Amanda) Gorman, Halifax; daughter, Amy (Lane) Quelch, Squamish; She was the proud and doting Nanny to, Ozzie, Ellie-Mae, & Sophie; brothers, Joe (Joanne), Normand (Florine), sisters, Mary Wilson, Lillian (late Grant) MacMellon, Phyllis (Ron) Perry, Florida (Jean) Dube; brother in law, Carl Gorman; sister in law, Pamela (Jim) Livingstone, Patty (Barry) Shea, Theresa; And several nephews and nieces She was predeceased by her brothers, Vic, Ozzie, Len (Vi), Raoul, Rod (Sandra), Eugene, Dollard, Meddy; sister, Pauline. Funeral mass will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 11:00am in St Stephens Church, 6032 Normandy Dr, Halifax. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scoita. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Northwood 1C who cared for Louise for the last 15 moths, making a very difficult situation easier to bear.
