To Byron’s Family,
Please accept our sincere condolences on Byron’s passing. Byron volunteer with Celtic Colours International Festival as a driver when he lived in Richmond County. He enjoyed the experience so much that when he returned to Truro, he would travel to Cape Breton and stayed at the Gaelic College while he was on shift driving Artist all around our island for 10 day festival. His first year, as he would say, “was a bit tough on one’s regular sleep pattern”, but he came back to do another festival before the pause due to the Covid pandemic. He joined the Driver’ers association and it was only yesterday at our AGM that it was brought to our attention that Byron had passed. We would loved to have been a part of his memorial service, and sincerely apologize for missing his death notice. Again, please accept our condolences.

Sincere condolences to Byron’s family.
It is with great sadness and disappointment that I will not meet Byron, my half-brother, on our family trip to Nova Scotia.
My daughter Barbara and husband Marty, my partner Gerrit, and myself have a month long trip on June 18th to Halifax.
We had talked to Byron on the phone several times, and he had made plans to meet his family.
He had arranged a special concert, performed by his friends, with typical Nova Scotian music, which is my favourite.
He gave us many suggestions of things to see, as well as a boat tour of the Cape islands to see dolphins, seals, and possibly whales.
With these conversations by phone, Byron gave me the impression of a very helpful, kind, and gentle person.
My long time wish of meeting my brother is now only a short memory that will never become reality.
Rest in peace Byron,
your sister, Cathryn

Our deepest condolences to the family and relatives of Byron.
We met, we learnt, we shared, we ate, we laughed together and now we mourn this loss. Our dear Byron has done his bit to make our world a safer place and he will be missed.
We can imagine Mr. Newland and him laughing at some silly unsafe practice.
May his soul in rest in peace and rise in glory.

Mr Byron, was a great teacher and trainer. He has imparted valuable nuggets when he trains in safety and health. I remember he said our reading segment on safety was the single most touching moment in his career,...it moved him to tears. He was very professional and resourceful. Condolences to his family and friends in this time of bereavement. Please know, he made a mark on many lives. May his soul rest in peace.

Byron was a long time friend. We knew each other while hanging around O'Connells at 10th street, New Aberdeen. We later reconnected while working together in Halifax. Recently, we were neighbours at Time-Out-Campground in the Iona/Orangeville area. My wife, Lee, and I will miss him.
