James Gregory Mackie Gardiner Mines It is with broken hearts that we the family announce the passing of Greg Mackie on Monday, December 25, 2017 at the Maple Hill Manor, New Waterford. Born in Gardiner Mines, he was the son of the late Daniel and Sarah (MacNeil) Mackie. He was an auto body man by trade. He enjoyed the simple things in life, puttering around the yard. Greg was an avid hunter, and enjoyed watching sporting events on T.V. especially hockey. He loved spending time with his family. Greg is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Cady (Hall) Mackie; his daughters, Melanie (Glen), Charlene (Brad), Kelly (Craig); his wonderful grandchildren, Cherie (Michael), Katelynn (Matt), Kelsey (Bryan), Sarah, Joshua and Donovan; his pride and joys, his great-granddaughters, Kaylee and Jessa. He is also survived by his brother, Harvey; his sisters; Annette, Pauline, Theresa and Marilyn; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, John; sisters, Mary and Geraldine. A special thanks to all of Greg’s caregivers at Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home and Maple Hill Manor, New Waterford. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, December 29, 2017 with Fr. Norman MacPhee officiating, at T. J.
