George V. 'Dickie' Postlethwaite Westmount It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of George ‘Dickie’ Postlethwaite at home on May 13, 2024. Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late George Edward and Shirley (Long) Postlethwaite. George enjoyed woodworking, going fishing with his wife Arlene and spending time with his family. George is survived by his loving wife Arlene (Phillipo) Postlethwaite; son James; daughter, Megan; son-in-law Shawn Boone; special niece Victoria Lee Postlethwaite; special nephew John Postlethwaite; brothers, James ‘Ed’ and Blair; sisters, Debbie McIntyre and Rose Postlethwaite as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his niece Rebecca ‘Becky’ Postlethwaite. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life for George will take place Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 6 Churchill Dr. Sydney, NS (902-539-7175). In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
