Obituary of Allan Thomas Andrews

It is with great sadness we, the family, announce the passing of Allan “Herman” Andrews on May 12, 2024 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Allan is survived by his loving wife, Linda (Etheridge), his daughters Amanda and Krista, as well as his mother Mary Andrews. He is also survived by his siblings; David, Diane, Joanie, Bruce (Lillian), Philip, Nancy; and brother-in-law, Rick Etheridge. His grand fur babies Blue and Ru, will miss grandpas snuggles and treats. He will be greatly missed by his good friends, Elizabeth and Albert Murphy, Bev and Bill MacDonald, Mabel Stewart and Sheldon (deceased) Postlethwaite. Allan was predeceased by his father Allan (Jeep), and brothers Albert and Greg, as well as Linda’s parents, June and Dorothy. After high school, Allan went to work at the steel plant until it closed. He then attended UCCB in the Mechanical Engineering Technology Program. Allan worked at the Sydney Call Centre and as a Crosswalk Guard for CBVRCE until his health declined. So many stories….so many laughs… Allan enjoyed camping with his family and friends, fishing in Margaree, and many nights playing tarabish with his buddies. He spent many years at the bowling lanes and was a star on Channel 10 TV! Allan had the unfortunate pleasure to watch game 7 of the playoffs this year where the Leafs disappointed him…once again! Allan celebrated his 44th Wedding Anniversary with his soulmate, Linda, on May 10th, 2024. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 6 Churchill Drive, Sydney, NS, 902-539-7175. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, May 16, 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 17, 11:00 am at Holy Redeemer Church, Fr. Paul Murphy officiating. Words of condolence may be made by visiting www.tjtracey.com. His light will continue to live on in all our hearts forever.
