Glace Bay

It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the peaceful passing of Ronald Eric Stewart, age 76, at home in the loving care of his daughter.

Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late James ‘Jimmy’ and Christina (O’Handley) Stewart.

Dad resided in Alberta and British Columbia for most of his life, retiring back at home in Glace Bay. He worked many jobs over the years, including a coal mine in Grande Cache, Alberta. He was a carpenter by trade and worked with the union in Alberta.

Ron is survived by his two sons, Ronald Stewart Jr., and Gerard Stewart, both of Glace Bay; his daughter, Kim Stewart (Kerry Wellon) with whom he resided; his grandson, Michael Devost, Edmonston, NB; step grandson, Steven Campbell. He is also survived by his brothers, Bobby (Sharon) Stewart, Grande Cache, Alberta, and Edward (Natalia) Stewart, Hanna, Albert; sister, Dena (George) MacDonald, Winnipeg, Manitoba, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Jimmy, and Christina, he was predeceased by his brothers, James, Butch and dad’s twin, Roland; sisters, Mary, Theresa, and Ethel; son-in-law, Lawrence MacDonald as well as his beloved doggies, Diesel, Askum and Youda.

Cremation has taken place. As per Ronald’s wishes there will be no visitation or service.
