Agnes Aritha Hill, 89 Reserve Mines, N.S. It is with broken hearts that we the family announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Agnes Hill “Ma Hill,” age 89, at the Maple Hill Manor on Thursday, May 2, 2024, with her family by her side. Born in Bridgeport, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Alma (Clarke) Lynk. In her earlier years she loved to go dancing; later in life Ma enjoyed the simple things and spending time with her family and friends. Agnes is survived by her children, Cyril ‘Sibbie’ (Debbie), Joe (Cheryl), John (Evelyn), Jerry (Donna), Rick (Tammy), Judy (Richard), Debbie (Don) and Michelle; she was a grandmother to Dwaine (Angela), Darryl (Cherie), Steven, Logan, Shaun, Walter, Brian, Rachel, Natasha, Raya, Amanda, Melissa, Amber, Robyn, Lisa and Samantha; 14 great grandchildren, and two precious great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Fred ‘Truman’ (Marie) and Jerry (Shelley) as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Cyril, daughter, Donna; ten brothers and sisters. We the family would like to thank Dr. B. Lowry for taking such great care of mom these past number of years, her care and compassion will always be remembered. To the VON Team for all the home visits while mom was in her apartment; to the Golden Girls and their staff, we are grateful for everything you did for mom; and to the team of Continuing Care, thank you! We would also like to send a special thank you to Joe, Karen, and all staff at Maple Hill Manor, you were all so excellent to mom and our family, you went above and beyond to make us comfortable, your compassion and dedication will be forever appreciated, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. In remembrance of our mom, we ask that you please remember all those loved ones’ who are in Nursing Homes and have no family to visit, bring them treats, or even to hug. We ask that if one has any time to spare, a short visit would be appreciated by the residence of these homes, or a donation of any kind would be welcomed as well. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held on August 3, 2024, at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, MacLeod’s Rd., Glace Bay. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, N.S. (902-849-4199)
