Obituary of Anna Elizabeth Melski
Please share a memory of Anna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Anna was born in L ‘Ardoise, Cape Breton, and moved to Halifax at an early age.
Living in Moncton, Anna loved live stage plays and carried that interest to London ON, and to Goderich ON. She acted and directed plays in Goderich and was a Fund Raiser for the new Livery Theatre and a Fund Raiser for the Alexandra Marine and General Hospital where she was a Board Member.
Anna's concern for pets, wild birds and animals was well known, and she was an Advocate for their welfare. Anna could be found warming a pair of orphaned baby skunks with her breath and feeding them with an eye dropper. Or, walking a groundhog on a leash to find dandelions on lawns. All were later released to the wild.
On returning "home" Anna worked in Relocation and was a a member and past president of The Cape Breton Club of Halifax and Produced and Hosted, Dartmouth Cable's "CAPE BRETON CEILIDH" for eleven years.
Anna is survived by her husband, Tony Melski of 60 years; brothers, Allister (Catherine) Sampson, Francis (Linda) Sampson, John Sampson, and Jerry Sampson; sisters, Evelyn Sampson, Rita Sampson, and Judy (Bill) Sampson.
She was predeceased by her parents and sister, Shirley Ryan.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
Family flowers only/in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to HOPE FOR WILDLIFE.
Special thank you to Corrine Sampson, and both the Sampson and Melski families, and the many nieces and nephews for all their support.
