Obituary of Donna Marie Boutilier

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Donna on April 8, 2024, in the Halifax Infirmary, QE11, after a cardiac issue complicated by having been a diabetic since the age of ten. Born June 18th, 1959, Donna was predeceased by her parents, Effie (Chisholm) and Leo Boutilier. She is survived and will be missed by her husband Lee Power, sister Brenda Boutilier (David Kent), PEI, as well as dear friends and cousins, and her four-legged pal Lexy. Donna had a successful career in sales starting as a teenager with Simpsons and finishing her career with The Bay rising to Department Head and winning numerous accolades for her excellent customer service. Donna took great pride in providing customer service to the highest level. Colleagues and clients always appreciated Donna’s courtesy and knowledge. Donna and Lee enjoyed life, their home in Portuguese Cove as well as over 15 Caribbean cruises. From a child Donna had a love of animals and earned the nickname “Elly May” for bringing home all sorts of critters. Her kindness and generosity will be long remembered. Everyone who met Donna always said, “what a nice lady”. Donna was a person that loved life, she would light up a room with her smile and outgoing personality. Always supportive and understanding. In her own words.... “She was one of a kind” ... Her dedication and love for her family was unconditional. She was a person that made a difference to all she knew. Her love for animals, domestic and wildlife was high on the list for her. I cannot find the words to describe how much she will be missed, I cannot put into words how much she contributed and gave to me, that made me the happiest I have been in my life. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will take place on Thursday April 18, 2024 from 6pm-8pm in T. J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, Beechville.
