Obituary of Sandy Johnston

Eric Alexander “Sandy” Johnston York, Ontario It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of our brother Eric Alexander ‘Sandy’ Johnston, age 71, at the Western Terrance on January 22, 2024. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Robert and Babe (Murrant) Johnston. Sandy was an electrician by trade and worked many years until his retirement. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing hockey and baseball; a good game of cards and watching the Chicago Black Hawks and Toronto Blue Jays. Sandy is survived by his longtime companion, Elizabeth Simo; brother, Robert (Marilyn) Johnston, Glace Bay; sister, Phyllis (Walter) Letcher, Sydney; nephews, Douglas, Eric, Bryan, Grant, and Ryan; nieces, Rhonda and Michelle as well as several great nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery.
