Obituary of Hector Joseph Warren

Hector Joseph Warren, 87 Birch Grove, N.S. Hector Joseph Warren, age 87, of Birch Grove passed away February 28, 2024, in Glace Bay Hospital. Born in Glace Bay, NS he was the son of Mary Kennedy and James Warren. Hector was most at peace “tinkering” in his garage at his home in Birch Grove. Known for his ability to rework/redesign and come up with a new way to have any mechanical device repaired to his standards. He loved living in “The Grove” and never strayed far from it through all his years. The phrase “Bloom where you are planted” describes his approach, although his version of “blooming” differed from most others in his world. He loved his wife and family dearly in his own special way and will be missed by many. Survived by his wife Edna (Wadman) of 64 years, 1 daughter: Cheryl (Terry) MacKinnon; 5 sons: David (Joan), James, Lloyd (Diana), Keith (Sheila), and Paul (Lisa), 4 sisters: Theresa, Hazel, Lorraine, Frances, 11 grandchildren: Christopher, David, Ashley, Jennifer, Jonathan, Jamie, Meaghan, Emily, Gregory, Michael, Rachel, 5 great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Morgan, Cali, Sadie, Stella, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers: Roy, Thomas, Robbie, and sister Charlene. Service arrangements have been entrusted to T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, N.S. 902-849-4199. There will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held Monday, March 4, 2024, at 2 p.m. in Holy Cross Church, Glace Bay, with Father Norman MacPhee officiating. Interment at a later date.
