Obituary of Joan Violet Allen

ALLEN, Joan Violet (Beanlands) (91), passed away peacefully on February 15, 2024 in the QEII Halifax Infirmary. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late, Herbert Beanlands & Violet (Morash) Beanlands. Joan dedicated her life to her late husband, Reginald, and to her five children. Joan very much enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joan was predeceased by her husband, Reginald, (June 12, 2022) and survived by her son, Reg, Jr., and her daughters, Susan (Robert) MacLellan, Janice (Geno) Pace, Tracey (Andy) Margison, and Ginny (Don) Crawley. She is survived by 10 grandchildren, Laura Allen (Angela Morash), Ben Allen (Deanna), Abby MacLellan, Amanda Nolan (Shane), Danielle Tucker (Scott), Matthew Margison (Sarah O’Brien), Meredith Margison (Brandon Hall), Emma Crawley (Kyle Piercey), Lauren Parkinson (Alex), and Allie Peters (Matt). Joan is survived by eight great-grandchildren, James and Lily Allen, Brielle and Brynlee Nolan, Mya Tucker, Zoey Margison, Blake Parkinson, (Baby Parkinson on the way) and Mila Peters. Joan is also survived by her half-sisters, Carol Simms (Greg) and Sandra Piercey (Randy). Besides her parents, Joan was predeceased by her sister, Doris McIsaac and her brother, John Beanlands. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 10:30 in St. Agnes Church, 6903 Mumford Road, Halifax. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
