It is with great sadness that we the family of David Lawrence MacMullin announce his peaceful passing surrounded by his family in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on Friday, February 9, 2024, at the age of 71. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Michael and Evelyn (Arthur) MacMullin.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 47 years, Linda (MacDonald) MacMullin; children: Wendy, Holly (Blair) Hennessey, David and special daughter-in-law Erin (Bobby) Blunden; grandchildren: Rebecca, Victoria, Malcolm, Kayleigh and Kendall; siblings Claire (Peter) Grant, Normie (Norma), Bev Hewitt, Tommy (Linda), Doug (Cathy) and Brian; his loving animals Maggie, Sebastian and Bubbies, as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Along with his parents Dave was predeceased by his parents-in-law Malcolm and Shirley (MacLeod) MacDonald, and brothers-in-law Mickey, Ron, Steven MacDonald, and Terry Hewitt.
Dave was a kind soul who loved sports (specifically the Toronto Maple Leaf’s) and animals. He was a coal miner for 27 years and delivered the newspaper for Cape Breton Post for several years.
A Memorial Service will be held in T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay. 902-849-4199, on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., with Fr. Norman McPhee presiding.
Memorial Donations may be made in Dave’s name to the Cape Breton SPCA.
