Mabel Selina Aucoin Reserve Mines, NS It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of Mabel Selina Aucoin, age 99 at Seaview Manor, Glace Bay on Sunday January 21, 2024. Born in Port Aux Basques, she was the daughter of the late Moses and Jemima May Bennett. Mabel loved to go camping in Ben Eoin with her family, she enjoyed going to flea markets, her nightly visits with her son Kevin and having a fudge stick. Mabel had a special place in her heart for her special girl Oaklynn. Mabel is survived by her Son, Kevin Aucoin, (Anna Sponagle) Reserve Mines, (Michelle Drake, Glace Bay); daughter-in-law Joanie Aucoin; her 7 grandchildren, Tammy Aucoin-MacMullin (Kelly), Victoria, BC, Jason Aucoin (Terrie), Dominion, Brandon Sponagle (Tania), Halifax, Jerrica Sponagle, Reserve Mines, David Aucoin (Jane), Glace Bay, Lynn Aucoin, Glace Bay, and Damon Aucoin (Terri Ann) North Sydney; her precious great grandchildren, Jamie and Tristan MacMullin, Cody and Victoria Aucoin, Oaklynn Sponagle, Brea Killam, Shaye and Gracie McNeil, Addison and Phalyn Matthews, Maya, Jacob, Lilly, Josh, Jonah and Jensen Aucoin, as well as 5 great great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Alphonse Aucoin; son, David Aucoin; three sisters, Mel, Dot, and Ada; two brothers, Josh, and Fred. In lieu of flowers, do a good deed in Mabels memory for somebody. A special thank you to Cathy MacAdam for being a dear friend and the staff of Seaview Manor for making her comfortable. Thank you to Lynn Aucoin for all the visits, Anna Sponagle for always looking after mom. Thank you to County Homemakers for your care and support over the years. “If anyone is asking, I am gone camping.” Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at a later date in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to T.J.
