Obituary of Janet Edstrom

Edstrom, Janet Laura May (Jan), Age 81 of Bedford Janet passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 11, 2024, at Melville Lodge. Born to the late Robert and May Fraser of Bedford, N.S., Janet was the sixth of seven siblings. She was a friendly, outgoing, fun-loving person remembered for her love of dressing like a clown and bringing joy to family and children; she loved family get-togethers. Jan was very family-oriented, and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were a great source of pride for her. She was a pet lover, and her cat, "Baby," was a source of comfort in her later years in challenging moments. She enjoyed camping and going to the cottage for vacations or weekends when the kids were younger. Janet was also an avid genealogist and spent countless hours researching her family, even going so far as to take her sisters Muriel and Joy to Newfoundland to seek her ancestors. She is survived by her three children, Debbie, Kim Langlois (Paul), and Will of Edmonton, AB, Bedford, NS, and Sackville, NS, respectively. Also mourning are her grandchildren, Matthew, Joel, Melissa, Ali, Clive; her great-grandson, Rylan; and her siblings, Muriel Payzant, Bobby Fraser (Barb), Joy Harwood, Peter Fraser (Linda), and Jane Fredericks. Special mention to her beloved niece, Donna Harwood of Halifax. Jan was predeceased by sister, Peggy Weld. A Celebration of Life will be held on January 16 from 1- 3 PM in T.J.
