Obituary of Martha Joan Graham

Martha Joan Graham Reserve Mines It is with profound sadness that we the family announce the passing of our wonderful mother, Martha Joan Graham on January 3, 2024. Joan passed peacefully on this day, surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 3, 1933, she was the eldest daughter of John and Martha MacPherson, of Dominion. Joan was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Bill ‘Doc’ Graham. Mom was the center of all family get togethers. In her earlier years; she loved a good game of golf with her lady friends. Joan was an avid reader; she enjoyed taking care of her flowers in the summer months, and a good game of cards. She will be greatly missed by all of us. Rest in peace, Mom. Joan is survived by her daughters, Gerry Shea (Clary), Karen Graham (Mark), Martha Couch (Gerard), Kathy MacKinnon (Howard) and Sheila McDonald (Adam); sons, John ‘Doc’ Graham (Nancy) and Bill with whom she resided; grandchildren, Amy, Lane, Ali, Holly, Max, Molly, Evan, Nic and Summer and her great grandson, Nash. She is also survived by her sisters, Mona, Elaine, Catherine, Elizabeth, Neila and brother Matt. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters Druscilla and Lois. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. The family would like to thank the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, doctors, nurses and staff for the care and compassion given to our mother. Cremation has taken place.
