Obituary of Donald Bernard Cameron

The family of Donald Bernard Cameron, 78, are saddened to announce his passing on January 6, 2024, at Hospice Cape Breton. Born in Sydney, N.S., Donald was the son of the late Murdock and Johnena (MacDonald) Cameron. Donnie ran Cameron Couriers Service with his brothers, and traveled daily from Sydney to the Highlands, Baddeck, Margaree, Mabou, Port Hood, and everyplace in between for many years. Donnie enjoyed watching hockey and the music of the 50’s and 60’s. Donnie is survived by his sons, Bobby Cameron, Ontario and D.J. Griffiths, Sydney; daughter, Lori Cameron, Ontario; mother of his children, Marlene; brothers, Raymond (Wendy) Cameron, Sydney, Murdock (Karen) Cameron, Sydney; sisters Ethel (Jim) Rooth, Sydney, Patricia (Trevor) Hanson, Albert Bridge, Beatrice Wall, New Brunswick; grandchildren, Hanna Cameron and Owen as well as many nieces and nephews from all over. Besides his parents, Donnie was predeceased by brothers, Jimmy, John, Gregory Lawrence, and sister, Jessie. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 6 Churchill Drive, Sydney, N.S., 902-539-7175. There will be no visitation. Special thanks to Dr. Worth for all his care over the years.
