Obituary of Robert Barry Lothian

Robert Barry Lothian Glace Bay It is with heavy hearts that I announce the passing of Barry Lothian, age 67, on December 20, 2023, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Calgary, Alberta, he was the son of the late Joe Shorten and Betty MacArthur. Barry was employed at the Dollarama, Glace Bay for five years. He loved animals, the 49ers, Calgary Flames, and the Stampeders. He is survived by his devoted loving wife of 20 years, Cheryl Higgins. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at 2 p.m. at T.J. Tracey Funeral Home, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199) with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating. Special thank to the CBRH doctors, nurses and paramedics who worked tirelessly to try to bring him back to me. Thank you to my family William, Marge, Kim, Laura Lee Higgins for being there when I needed them the most and finally my friend, Kathy, who held me up during this challenging time.
