Obituary of Valerie Janet Ferguson

Valerie Ferguson, 76 Glace Bay, N.S. With deepest sorrow we announce the passing of Valerie Janet Ferguson, 76, of Glace Bay, on Tuesday, December 5th, in the Glace Bay Hospital. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Claudine Almon. Valerie was a wonderful wife and mother who enjoyed chatting with friends, reading, sewing, crafting, and baking. She was retired from the Cape Breton Post, where she spent most of her career. She also spent several years working for St Mary’s Anglican Church in Glace Bay. Valerie is survived by her husband of 56 years, John (Jackie) Ferguson, her children Valerie Jean Ferguson, Sydney, Kari Lynne (Jason) Bobrowich, Calgary and John Aaron Ferguson (Ashley George), Glace Bay. She leaves behind her loved and cherished granddaughter, who was the light in her life, Keira (Calgary). Also left to mourn her passing are sister Joanne Almon of Toronto, brother Wayne Almon (Miriam) of Sydney, special aunt, Annie MacNeil of Arichat and many close friends. Valerie was predeceased by daughter Allison Laurel, in infancy, her parents Joseph and Claudine Almon, as well as her mother and father-in-law, Donald and Agnes (Curry) Ferguson. Special Thanks to the staff of Seaview Manor, EHS as well as Renal Dialysis for the care shown and provided to Mom over the years. By request, there will be no service or visitation.
