Bill peaceful passed away on Monday February 20 2023 at The Q E II Health Science Center, Halifax N S. It is time for me to be with the Lord. I was born in Halifax N S in 1946 to my parents the late, William G Brown and Jane Marie (Couttreau) Brown. I am survived by my brother, Gregory A (Caroline) Brown; sisters, Judy (Bruce) Olsen and Lorraine (Donald) Tedford; and several nephews and nieces. I am also survived by the love of my life, Ruby E Barss Brown sole mate, and best friend. I graduated from Summerside High School PEI in 1964 then Saint Mary’s University earning a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Business Administration. My first position was with Traders Group Limited, Halifax where I was promoted to a financial oversight position in Toronto. Being a Maritimer I transferred back to Halifax, and later joined Federal Business Bank as a regional credit officer. Later I joined Confederation Life Insurance and finished with automotive sales. I was a member of Life Underwriters Association and served with the Agent Marketing Advisory Council also was President of Sears-Halifax Toastmasters Club Halifax, and a member of Bedford United Church. I enjoyed travel, music, and golf. Ruby and I loved to travel in USA and Europe also a memorable cruise with The Royal Princess. Every December for several years vacationing at Longboat Key, Florida. Another passion was alpine skiing at Sugarloaf, USA being our favourite during the winter. Golfing was my passion through the years into retirement, Nova Scotia, Bermuda and Myrtle Beach. My last great game was to celebrate my 75th birthday at Crowbush PEI. The best day of my life was April 5th 1974 in Toronto where Ruby and I were married. I wish to thank Dr. Jalal Hosein my family physician for many years of care and later Dr. Daniel Smith. I also want to say a heartfelt thank you to the team of Doctors and Nurses who compassionately cared for me during my final few weeks. I fought hard but now at peace with Ruby by my side. A private service and internment has taken place at Brookside Bedford Community Cemetery, Bedford Nova Scotia. For those who love with their heart and soul there is no separation. Rumi
