To me Evelyn was the Grand Dame of our Coffee Group at 112 Greenpark Close!
Whether we were Ringing in the New Year, Putting up Hearts in February, Dancing a jig in March, Raising a Flag on Canada Day, Listening to “In Flanders Fields” on Nov 11th or Singing Christmas Carols in December, Evelyn had decorations for all occasions and gladly shared them with us her newfound friends and 10 years later, old friends!
On one occasion she even kissed the Cod!!! (I still have the codfish she fashioned out of Bristol board for our Fish n Brewis Dinner!)
Evelyn was interested in all aspects of our lives. In our case taking interest in our granddaughter Lily’s highland dance, always having a little something crafty for her should we visit!
Evelyn and I danced at her 85th and talked about taking a little spin at her 90th. But that was not to be! So, I’ll take a little spin myself, in memory of the chats we had in her beautiful living room in front of her grand bay window at 112 Greenpark Close!
See you later, dear friend !
