Obituary of Eileen Mary Penney

We are saddened to announce the passing of Eileen Mary Penney, 88, at The Cove Guest Home, on Sunday, November 12, 2023, with her loving family at her side. Born in Sydney Mines, Eileen was the daughter of the late Daniel and Christena (Young) Walker. She loved knitting, sewing, gardening and reading. She is survived by her husband, Stanley (Junior) Penney, of 51 years; sisters, Patricia (Winston) Williams, Karen (Ernie) Bernasky and Barbara (Peter) MacNeil; grandchildren, Tracy MacKinnon and Sonya (Eric) Cardello; great-grandchildren, Tianna Marinucci, Nathan and Matthew Cardello; sisters-in-law, Joyce Woodland and June Penney Lynk; and many nieces and nephews. Eileen will also be missed by her faithful fur baby Shilo. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Barbara MacKinnon; brother, Jackie Walker; and sisters, Marie Blundon and Ella (in infancy). The family would like to thank the Cove Guest Home second floor Skylight Unit. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of T.J.
