Obituary of Blanche A. Clarke

CLARKE, Blanche A., Age 100, of Halifax, NS passed away November 1, 2023, at her home in Halifax, NS. Born in Yarmouth, NS, she was the daughter of William Stewart Wickens and Evilina Pitman. Blanche served in the Women’s Air Corps during World War two and then returned to civilian life to teach in many K – 10 schools on the south shore of Nova Scotia, including Tantallon, Halifax County. Eventually specializing in education for special needs children. After retirement, she worked as a Commissionaire, and if you frequented the Dalhousie Killam Library, may have chatted with her at some time. She also spent many years as volunteer to help infirm and elderly in Halifax. Blanche is survived by her son, Michael S. Clarke; grandchildren, Matthew Clarke and Mitchell Clarke, and great-grandchild, Mila Clarke. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, Halifax.
