Marguerite Geneva ‘Jean’ Comeau
Glace Bay
It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of Jean Comeau, age 85, at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital, New Waterford on Tuesday, January 30, 2018. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Malcolm and Ruby (Clark) MacMillan.
She was employed at the pathology lab in Halifax for many years. Jean was a member of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Glace Bay.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Mike) Surette, Mississauga, ON; granddaughter, Michelle Surette; step grandsons, David and Bradley Surette; sisters, Catherine ‘Kay’ Wilson (Late Earl) and Donna (Sheldon) Mullins; brother, Roy (Gizelle) MacMillan, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Maurice ‘Moe’ Comeau; sister, Laura Caldra Madore (Bill Madore); a sister in infancy, and niece, Sandy Madore.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday February 1, 2018 with Rev. Allan MacLellan officiating at the T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS, 902-849-4199. Reception to follow the service.
