It is with broken hearts that we the family, announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Robert ‘Bobby’ Snow on Friday, October 27, 2023, at the Glace Bay Hospital, with his loving family by his side.
Born in Victoria, Newfoundland, he was the son of the late Jobe and Jane (Vaders) Snow.
He was a self-employed trucker working with DEVCO, until his retirement. Bobby was a volunteer firefighter with the Glace Bay Fire Department for 30 years; he was also in the Firemen’s Choir. He was an avid Blue Jays and Toronto Maple Leafs fan, only if they were winning.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Jacquelyn “Jackie’ (Simpson) Snow; his son, John (Nancy); daughters, Tanya, and Jennifer (Allan); his three grandchildren, his pride and joy, Hannah Dugas, Robert Gillis, and Brooke Dugas. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia Morris, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Jobe and Jane he was predeceased by his siblings, Eugene Snow, Bill Snow, Hazel Eveley, Navie Priddle, and Dorothy Francis.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, November 1, 2023, from 6-8 p.m. at the Glace Bay Fire Hall, 87 Reserve St., Glace Bay.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bobby’s memory may be made to the Palliative Care Unit, Cape Breton Regional Hospital and the IWK Health Centre. A very special thank you to all the staff at the Glace Bay Hospital, 3rd Floor for their care and compassion given to Robert during his stay there.
