Obituary of Robert Johnston

Robert Johnston, 80 Glace Bay, N.S. With deep sorrow, we the family of Robert Johnston announce his passing on Sunday, October 15, 2023. Born in Glace Bay, Robert was the son of the late Florence Johnston. Robert was an avid reader and loved spending time with his family. Robert is survived by his wife Sheila (McIntyre) Johnston of 49 years; two sons: Scott (Elaine) Johnston and Ian (Shauna) Johnston; two grandchildren: Amara Johnston and Cole Johnston; and special nephew Robbie Curry. He was predeceased by a sister Margaret Curry and niece Carolyn Curry, as well as Henry and Ray MacLeod. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023, from 9:30 to 11 a.m., and a Memorial Service to follow at 11 a.m., with Fr. Norman MacPhee presiding, all in T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, N.S. 902-849-4199. Interment to be held at a later date. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Glace Bay Food Bank.
