Obituary of Heather Isobel Knox

Heather Isobel Knox, 79 Glace Bay, N.S. It is with great sorrow, that we the family of Heather Knox, announce her passing on Monday, September 25, 2023, at home. Born in Glace Bay, Heather was the daughter of the late James Henry (Harry) and Paulene (Bramwell) MacDonald. Heather had several jobs in her lifetime, but her most treasured was that of being a wife, mother, grandmother, and a best friend to an abundant of people. Heather was an active member in the Anglican Church, serving as St. Mary’s Parish Secretary, and member of the ACW, as well as being a member of the church choir. Heather was a member of the Anglican Church Women’s group, Glace Bay Hospital Auxiliary, Y’s Men’s Majorette, Scouting Movement as a Beaver Leader, and the Library Craft Group. She loved being crafty, she was a master of crafts of all kinds, and her favourite was sewing and quilting. Heather is survived by her husband Alfred “Al” Knox, of 57 years; sons: James (Susan); daughter: Angela; grandchildren: Kathleen (Mike), Jonathan (Eli), Ryan, and Sara; great-grandchildren: Grace and Ronan; cousins: Jeannie, Joyce, Robert (Sandra); and several nieces, nephews, and sisters and brothers in law; she was also survived by a sister by choice, Sheilah MacIntyre and family, along with her summer poolside ladies and several lifelong friends. Visitation for the late Heather Knox will be held in St. Mary’s Church, Marconi St., Glace Bay, on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., and a Funeral Service to follow, with Rev. Myrna MacMullin presiding. Interment will be held in St. Mary’s Anglican Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a St. Mary’s Anglican Church, or a charity of one’s choice.
