KANE, Ralph (Bud) Augustine
1933 to 2018
It is with great sadness that the family of Ralph Augustine (Bud) Kane announces his sudden passing on Sunday, 11 February 2018 at the age of 85 years. Born in Dartmouth to Olive Mary (Graves) and Cyril Austin Kane, Bud was a well known businessman, sports enthusiast and a good friend to many. His crowning glory was being recruited to the Cleveland Indians Baseball team in the
early 1950’s. Retiring early, Bud with his wife Elaine, spent many hours on the golf course in the company of many other avid golfers and achieving two “holes in one” at his
home club, Uniacke Pines.
Bud is survived by his wife, Elaine Therese (MacPhee); his children Deborah (Calvin) Kerr, Joanne Lanigan, Dianne (Alan) Burgess, Paul (Cheryl) Kane and Julie (Cory) White and step-children Cynthia (Gregg) Morris, Stephen (Raphaela) Delory, Michele (John) Kirby, Brenda (Brian) MacDonald, Colleen (Moe) Amendolagine, and Rebecca Melendez. Also surviving grandchildren, Sean,
Susan & Steven, Nicholas & Hailey, Kelly, Cydney & Robyn, Gregory, Benjamin, Tim & Simon, Dillon & Ryan, Zachery and Cian; and great grandchildren Ainsley and Peyton- Predeceased by his parents; sisters, Shirley Duggan, Bette Maloney; brother Scott Kane; and also by former wife and mother of his children Gertrude (Hodie) McClure.
There will be no funeral nor visitation by request. A reception will be held on Friday evening in the Sambro Room at the Best Western Chocolate Lake Hotel, Saint Margaret’s Bay Road, Halifax from 6:00-9:00 P.M. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, Bedford.
