James ‘Jimmer’ Richard Steele

It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the sudden passing of James ‘Jimmer’ Steele, age 55 of Mira Gut in Strathmore, Alberta. Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late John ‘Jack’ and Evelyn (MacPhee) Steele.
James was a cabinet maker by trade before moving to Alberta for employment.
Jimmer enjoyed woodworking, singing, and playing his guitar. He enjoyed going fishing; loved to laugh and tell a good joke.
James is survived by his wife, Nicole (Davidson); two sons, Brett, and Tyler; daughter, Shay; soon to be grandson, Beau James.
He is also survived by his four brothers, Skippy, Reggie, Bernard (Juanita) and George (Shelley); five sisters, Theresa (Donnie) Messanger, Beverly (Ralph) Young, Rita (Frank) Peinsznski, Sarah (Benji)Boutilier and Maryette Steele (Cameron); sister-in-law, Pat Steele; mother and father in law, Doreen and the late Fred Davidson, sisters and brothers -in-law, Allan, Wayne, Shelly (Moose), Shannon, Brad (Michelle) Shane and Tara; god-daughter Paige Young; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Mary ‘Evelyn’ (MacPhee) and John Thomas Steele; he was predeceased by his brothers, Bobby, David, and John; sisters, Ursula, and Rose.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 2, 2023, from 11-1 p.m., in T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, N.S. 902-849-4199.
