Glenn Donald MacKinnon Glace Bay, NS Glenn Donald MacKinnon, 53, of Glace Bay passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023, after a lengthy illness. I was the son of Terry and Mary MacKinnon of Glace Bay. I was survived by both parents, six brothers, Terry (Cheryl), Ricky (Nancy), Dennis (Sheila), Darrell (Trish), Dale (Bernadette) and Michael, and four sisters, Cindy, Dawn, Darlene (Gary) and Carmel. I became a registered nurse after high school in 1988. My career began at the Sydney City Hospital and concluded at the Cape Breton Regional. Like most nurses, I could have written a book. I truly loved my job despite its many challenges. I certainly didn't have any doubts about my chosen career path. I never regretted a single moment because it shaped me both personally and professionally. I never married or had any biological children. I was serendipitously humbled by the opportunity to help raise Andre Lebel; he became such an integral part of my life. He taught me one of life's greatest lessons, how to love unconditionally. He endured many obstacles in his life and survived non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. He will indelibly reside in my heart and soul forever. My greatest solace in life came from spending time with family, laughter, nature, music, gardening, and love of animals. Carmel was not only my sister, she was my guiding light and closest confidant. Thank you so much for all your love and support. To my two darling earth angels, Matthew and Ben MacKinnon, I loved you beyond words, how did I ever get so blessed. To my family, please know that I truly loved you all. I will be cremated with no service or visitation. My ashes will be scattered in one of my favorite places in Margaree, Cape Breton at a later date. I will be under the care of T.J. Tracey, Cremation and Burial Specialists. “Love is Love” "Tomorrow Is Promised To No One"
